The practical approaches to develop schools? engagement in scientific research is the topic of the STEM Education Hub next free online seminars. On the 11 de agosto, às 10.00-12.00 (BRT),especialistas do Brasil e Reino Unido vão liderar mesas-redondas para discutir e explorar com os participantes o conceito de ciência cidadã e caminhos práticos para implementação de pedagogias baseadas em pesquisa/evidência. O evento contará com tradução simultânea, disponível em Português e Inglês.

Rodrigo Arantes Reis

Rodrigo Arantes Reis is an associate professor at the Federal University of Paraná. Adviser on the Graduated Program in Sustainable Territorial Development and Graduated Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching at UFPR. Coordinator of the Mobile Laboratory for Scientific Education at UFPR and the Interinstitutional Project on Citizen Science at School (PICCE). Member of the Advisory Committee for Scientific Dissemination of (CA-DC) CNPq and Dean of Outreach and Culture at UFPR.

Natalia Pirani Ghilardi-Lopes

Natalia Pirani Ghilardi-Lopes is an associate professor at the Federal University of ABC. She is an advisor at the Graduate Program in Evolution and Diversity at UFABC and at the Graduate Program in Teaching and History of Science and Mathematics at UFABC. She coordinates the research group on “Citizen Science and Environmental conservation” at UFABC, and is a supervisor at the Instituto Nacional da Mata Atlântica Citizen Science Program. She is a founding member of the Brazilian Citizen Science Network.

Jussara Almeida Bezerra

Jussara Almeida Bezerra currently is a school director at a municipal school in São Bernardo do Campo (SBC), São Paulo. She has experience as a Kindergarten and Elementary Education teacher at SBC and Diadema. She also teaches in postgraduate courses related to Childhood Education, Literacy and Active Learning Methodologies. She is a master’s student at UFABC in the Teaching and History of Science and Mathematics program, and focuses her studies on the interfaces of Citizen Science and Education.

Diana Ribas R Roque

Diana Ribas R Roque has a bachelor and teaching degree in Biology Science at Brasília Catholic University and a masters in Science and Mathematics History Teaching at Federal University of ABC. She teaches science in english at Basic Education and a researcher at the Citizen Science research group af UFABC.

Janice Ansine

Janice Ansine is Senior Project Manager – Citizen Science, The Open University (OU), UK and manages projects that use innovative educational technology engaging the public to participate and learn about biodiversity and nature using innovative, easily accessible web-based tools and resources (see www.iSpotnature.org e TreezillaJanice também contribui com ensino e pesquisa de ciência cidadã inovador e acessível na The Open University, como em www.open.ac.uk/citizen-science-and-global-biodiversity e https://citsci.kmi.open.ac.ukPós graduada e com experiência em mídia, gestão ambiental e ciência e sociedade, tem grande experiência em liderança de iniciativas em comunicação, engajamento de público, apoio e educação não formal, além de mudança de comportamento em torno da sustentabilidade, ciência e meio ambiente.
