In the final session of the STEM Education Hub launch, Ronaldo Christofolleti discusses his experiences with academic collaboration between Brazil and the UK, from project conception to implementation. Ronaldo also shares the results and impact generated by these partnerships, using the example of Maré de Ciência, a project in Brazil that aims to strengthen connections between university, schools and society, through a “Citizen Science” perspective. 

Maré de Ciência Project

Ronaldo is the brain behind the successful and well-loved Maré de Ciência project in Brazil. He is an enthusiast of science, education and co-construction processes to promote a better society. He is a Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo, coordinator of the Maré de Ciência Program, trainer of the British Council’s Core Skills, Active Citizens and Researcher Connect Programs and a member of the UNESCO Advisory Committee on Communication for the Ocean.
